Oil Fired Appliance Servicing
Chalder Engineering Ltd undertakes all domestic projects wherever an oil fired appliance is in need of attention. We recommend that regular servicing is carried out every twelve months, thus meeting all necessary manufacturer servicing recommendations.
All servicing is carried out in accordance with OFTEC (the oil heating regulatory body) standards.
The Benefits of Regular Servicing
Regular servicing minimises the chance of your oil fired appliance suffering a breakdown. Additionally, with fuel bills escalating at an alarming rate, it also ensures that your fuel oil is burning at its most effective and efficient rate. Checks are also made during a service to ensure that carbon monoxide and soot are not being produced during combustion.
Boiler Servicing
As manufacturers recommend yearly services on their products, having them done ensures any warranty you may have is still in effect.
Chalder Engineering Ltd are approved installers for the following manufacturers:
- Worcester Bosch
- Warmflow Engineering
- Trianco
- Firebird
As part of your boiler service, Chalder Engineering Ltd will carry out the following:-
- A thorough clean of the boiler, including the vacuuming of the burner chamber
- Full inspection of the operation of burner parts
- Inspection of the visible oil line and oil tank
- Replacement of the fuel injection nozzle
- Full inspection and replacement (if required) of all fuel lines, filters and fire valves
- Complete tuning of the boiler
- The boiler will be labelled with the date your next service is due
Approximately one year after your service, you will receive a reminder from Chalder Engineering Ltd that your next service is due. You can then arrange for an appointment at your convenience.
If it becomes obvious to our engineers that further work to your boiler is required than is covered by the service (perhaps it hasn’t been serviced for a few years), this will be discussed with you and either carried out there and then or at a later date, depending on time requirements.
Cooker Servicing
Your oil cooker needs regular yearly servicing as well as your boiler, particularly if you purchased it new and want to ensure the manufacturer’s warranty is still in effect.
Chalder Engineering Ltd can supply a fully qualified engineer to carry out this service. It will include the following:-
- A full check of all safety devices
- Check of all the functional controls and components
- The combustion chamber and burner mechanism will be cleaned
- Confirm the correct fuel rates
- Visual safety check of the oil line and storage tank
